Learn To Curl
So you’ve seen curling on the Olympics, and thought it was pretty cool. Want to give it a try? Come join Palmetto Curling Club on Tuesday, March 3rd and we will teach you some of the basics about the sport and give you some top-notch instruction on how to deliver curling stones, sweep, and play the game!
All equipment and instructors are provided by Palmetto Curling Club. The Learn to Curl will last 1 hour.
Each session starts with an introduction after which you will spend time on the ice learning how to deliver a stone, how and why we sweep, plus the finer points of the game.
Please bring a pair of clean, rubber-soled sneakers, wear loose fitting clothes, and layering for cold. Note: jeans will restrict your movement; stretch sports pants are best.
All participants must be at least 14 years of age. Participants 14 to 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult who will sign a waiver on their behalf.
The Pavilion has plenty of parking. You will want to park near the lower soccer fields for the shortest walk into the ice rink.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled start time. We have limited ice time so need to start on time in order to maximize it.
Since we only allow 1 person per registration, if you have a larger group, have others sign up too. Once you arrive at the Learn to Curl, we'll make every effort to put you on the same sheet of ice for the event. If you have questions, please email us at palmettocurling@gmail.com.
